At the VIII Congress (2020-2023) of the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh continues to be selected as HAWAâs Chairman for the VIII term (2020-2023). Besides, Mr. Khanh is currently Chairman of AA Corporation.
The Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA) has just held the Congress of Representatives term VIII (2020 -2023) and Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of AA Corporation continues to be the Chairman of HAWA this term.
In addition, HAWA also has 03 Vice Chairmen including Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, General Director of OSEVEN Joint Stock Company; Mr. Nguyen Chanh Phuong, Chairman of Board of Members of Danh Moc Company and Mr. Phung Quoc Man, Chairman of Board of Members of Bao Hung Company Limited.
In which, Mr. Chanh Phuong also is in charge of the position of General Secretary of HAWA. Sharing HAWA's strategic direction and vision in the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh reiterated his goal of becoming a bridge connection with the Government to advocate for good policies for businesses.
For the international market, by 2025, HAWA has made its best efforts, contributing to the completion of the export target of 20 billion USD, in which, Vietnamese enterprises must take for 60-70%.
Moreover, HAWA will implement a series of programs, promoting the wood industry in general to become an industry that creates opportunities to attract young resources because of factors such as technology, creative stimulation, high aesthetics, applying technology to convert the amount of OEM products into ODM,... in order to improve competitiveness and to create high profits.
HAWA's vision in the next 5 years is that 60% of Vietnamese exporters must have 30% of them which make high added value items, 20% ODM products, and have policies to support young people in starting a business in wood and furniture industry, develop an affordable industrial land fund to serve as a basis for production and create jobs for the community, ...
In early 2020, all enterprises in the wood industry did not have orders and had to close down. But in recent months, the number of orders which has increased gradually, make some enterprises have no production workers.
âIt means that, we are completely passive before fluctuations. After analyzing, we conclude, the fact that Vietnam's wood industry has access to foreign markets is too rare to rank near the bottom of the supply chain, but with the goal of reaching 20 billion USD per year for the wood industry, in the year 2025 there must have lots of participants from the design, production, service provision and distribution. For that reason, we can master the gameâ, Mr. Quoc Khanh, Chairman of HAWA raised the issue and mentioned the pioneering projects of the Association in this term, especially build start-ups for a furniture enterprise in Trang Bang district, Tay Ninh province in order to create a young successor force, to bring the Vietnamese furniture brand globally.
